There is this escape room in South Central called Horror Escapes LA Dr. X and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I'm very picky when it comes to things like escape rooms because there was a time when I was very disappointed with one so for my sake, I do heavy research on what rooms are available. So anyways this one was very unique because they do what is called a "room battle" where there are 3 escape rooms, 3 different groups, and whoever gets out first is technically the "winner" but the point is to escape of course. My group of friends did the Zombie lab with a couple of strangers which I personally never done before.
Of course I won't give too much information out because I want people to experience this escape room! It's freaking great. One of the best ones I've ever done. I'll just rate them on a scale of 1-10 on different things.
Location, Parking, Traffic: 7. It was okay. It didn't take us long to get there because we were like 20 minutes away from the location. But parking was on the street. There's a little shopping center/swap meet right across the street. Unfortunately they don't let you inside the warehouse until 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Get there early though because if you're late and the gate is closed, you can't get in.
Story and Outline: 8. All 3 rooms were linked to a story about Dr. X and the whole point is to get out before he comes or else you're screwed. The introduction and safety video made me laugh and scared me at the time. The three rooms were: Captive Chamber (4 player MAX) Zombie Lab (10 player MAX) and Doctor's Office (10 players MAX) Difficulty is listed by easiest to hardest.
Scare factor: 8. Like holy crap. Guys I can barely handle Halloween Horror Nights without low key wanting to cry (I've cried at Knotts Scary Farm when I was in middle school, another story, another post lol) At one point our whole team, even the strangers) were huddled in a corner scared AF. It was great.
Puzzles: 7. Some of the puzzles weren't necessarily clear. I mean I guess that's a good thing but it was hard and had to call multiple times for a hint. We constantly had to second guess and double check what we found over and over. But overall they were pretty clever.
Time: 50 minutes. I thought that it was long enough. We were the first ones out (maybe because we were asking for hints, but there wasn't a limit soooo lol)
Overall: 8. It was a great escape room. I definitely want to go back and do the other rooms soon. But I wish there were more scare factors because I find them scary and they distract me from what's important, which is escaping. Definitely recommend it to people who love doing horror escape rooms, they definitely give you a jump scare factor that you crave.

Anyways that's my post for now. I just found time today and didn't feel like doing chores or anything like that because honestly enjoy reviewing escape rooms. I'll come back soon to write some more things. Sorry there's no actual pictures to grab your interest LOL. I never got the picture from when we escaped but we won!
Stay tuned y'all!
